Aqualu fj 40 body build forum. Brand new, was purchased for a project that never got off the ground. I couldnt find longer body posts for the body since i got 120mm tires on this thing. New here but i just saw this thread an thought id pop in.

Those aqualu tubs are badass but you'll be paying for it too, about 3k i believe for a tub. Currently aqualu is finishing the body for our quad cab out of aluminum and will be sending it to us to finish the build. This fj40 has vintage good looks, combined with all the modern upgrades you expect. Here is a 4 door 45 hard top, but picture it as a soft top. I have to go with a body post extension and probably going to do some trimming on the body.

Currently aqualu is finishing the body for our quad cab out of aluminum and will be sending it to us to finish the build. A body needs mounts so i made up these ones which double as rock slider mounts, and i made up a little bumper corner gusset/rear body mount. With an international pedigree like a land rover, the rugged simplicity of a jeep and swagger like an old bronco.

I soaked bolts and the body mounts in pb for a week and when i slightly went to loosen it the whole bottom of the perch twisted and broke apart. The last pic is a filler plate between the frame rails, the bumper had to sit back a little from the body to allow for a tire carrier and it looked goofy with a gap between the body and the bumper so i welded in a filler and smoothed it all out so it. The little bit of toyota die.

Ccot’s body panel jigs have been used to stamp panels for over 15 years, and have produced accurate panels to rebuild thousands of fj40s. The aqualu 4 door 40 tub has a 80 series wide option but not in a 4 door 45 option. My tacoma is done minus sas whenever i get tired of mid travel.

I don’t need advice on why i’m doing what i’m doing. I just want to build this and have a bunch of fun with the family. They basically look like a 4 door 40 series.

Greg mushro, sometimes typed as greg mushroom is an active. By so many standards, the fj40 land cruiser is the definitive 20th century 4x4. I got lucky with her!
